Project draft

« fatzaDA » is a project organized by The Association of Contemporary Art Depot (D.A.C.) and the Ithaka Foundation, with the support of the town hall of Brasov, using an artistic concept put together by the LOST CIRCLE.

The project aims to fulfill the following objectives:

Firstly to draw and mobilize public attention as well as to make the community sensitive and directly involved in a project meant to bring back the special medieval ambiance of the historical center of Brasov, in a « European » context.

Secondly, the project intends to actually renovate the facades of the old buildings, which have been most affected by time, buildings that are part of the cultural heritage of Brasov.

Who will be involved:

  • Painters, designers, photographers
  • Art students
  • Children from Romania, EU, USA
  • The Town Hall of Brasov
  • Multinational corporations
  • NGOs
  • Architects
  • Citizens of Brasov
  • Mass media specialized in European Affairs
  • Musicians
  • The Norbert Detayie Foundation
  • Inside Communication
  • Cultural Institutes and Centers in Romania, Germany and Hungary
  • The Honterus German High School and the German Forum from Brasov
  • The Sinagouge and the Black Church from Brasov

More precisely we wish to organize a cultural event in the central square of Brasov where media representatives as well as the public at large will participate in a show during which the painters (both adults and children) will expose panels with artistic solutions for the facades of the old buildings that need to be restored. Hence we want to reanimate the civic spirit of Brasov community and give them the sense of pride of being citizens of this city. The participants will be able to look at the panels with art works made by the artists and will be able to listen to the encouraging messages of the most important local actors. At the same time musicians will contribute to the artistic ambiance of the event. fatzaDA aims at creating a structure that will lead to a better management, communication and collaboration between the actors involved in the project, the citizens of Brasov, the multinational corporations, the civil society and the local authorities with respect to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the city.
